up and ATOM!

Yo internet lurkers!
I'm heading back home for the holidays today, I'm pretty stoked!
Not on the fact that I am getting presents, but because I can see my family.
I haven't seen my family as a whole in a while and it sucks, school really does take a toll on you, both mentally and physically.
Hopefully I can get my sleeping patterns back on track when im' home as well as my eating habits.
It seems I go to bed around 3ish and then wake up around 1 or 2 to start my day. But how can I start a day when more than half of it is gone?

I've been getting a lot better at waking myself up earlier to actually accomplish something in the 12 hours of sunlight Ontario now has.

Life update!

i am still currently living.
I am living in residence, doing some work I guess!
I'm basically make sure that people haven't messed up their rooms to the point of non recognition!
School term is done, and I think i did fairly well!
To the point where I don't know what fairly well is.

I'm saving my money for things other than hats, sneakers and other random things.
I'm not going to summer camp this year so I can pay off debt and hopefully get myself a pickup truck or small car!

I need to grow up apparently, and Haul my life together!

I need to start budgeting for tattoos, groceries and housing so I can manage my funds.
I don't really need anything else, because really, who gives a fuck!

I'll dirtbagit 24/7 if i have to!

Stoked for the coming things to appear randomly in my life!

Stoked on seeing my Girlfriend and celebrating her Birthday! Should be a wicked time!

Pieces!

.

It's a start of a new year,
And as always, things are exactly the same.
I'm watching my closest get so far from me,
And I've never felt so alone.

I said all I could say,
Not a single thing has changed.
I left them here to doubt me,
They laugh, and then they leave.
I've realized now I'll never become anything.

Another long night of being strung out and alone.
Another night of hearing things
And having messed up dreams.
Another day of rejection.
The people I love seem to be giving up on me.

So, yes, it's true,
I've stolen lines off the same books that I read.
And I dream of living in late night kitchen conversations.
So now you know, I try to soak up inspiration any way I can.
And if it's so hard to believe what I say,
Then I should stop speaking.

Another long night of being strung out and alone.
Another night of hearing things
And having messed up dreams.
Another day of rejection.
The people I love seem to be giving up on me.

Just learn to love yourself.
Just forget the rest for now,
And learn to love yourself.
Just forget the rest for now,
And learn to love yourself.

Another long night of being strung out and alone.
Another night of hearing things
And having messed up dreams.
Another day of rejection.
The people I love seem to be giving up on me.

My girlfriend

Rules so hard!

I can never stop thinking about her and she makes me smile beyond my cheeks!

I went to Barrie Last night to meet Chantel's family today and had a blast!
We hit up Value Village, Cora's for breakfast (So Good), Giant tiger and just hung out with each other for a full day!

I miss when we didn't have such busy schedules and we could just lay in bed all day and watch movies, but we make our lives work with each other!

I couldn't ask for anything more!

Things are looking

Good around here! haha!

I'm sitting in my astronomy class, Movember has started.
My "MO" is being created as we speak.

I'm tired. I've been getting maybe 5 hours of sleep for the past 2 or 3 days.
My eyes are always stinging and I rub them every 5 minutes to keep my sanity.

I submitted my 24 hour ride for Africa program to the Res life conference in hopes of going to Guelph and presenting it and sharing my thoughts on it.

Hopefully I will get to go, because it would basically get me a job guaranteed next year in residence.

I'm hoping I can get a position in T building, where the rooms are bigger and the residents aren't as alcohol friendly.

Being an R.A is wicked. R building is a lot of fun, but I need some space sometimes and my little dorm has no space at all, which sucks huge!

Size of room now:

Next year hopefully:

and

That would be nice.
So much room for activities!

YEAH!

If you think that I am only a hardcore kid... think again.
I play sports such as hockey and baseball, and I guess I'm alright.
tonight we played one of the top teams in our league, and I was playing some of the best hockey I have played in a long time.

I scored right off a face-off, which I'm super stoked on.
It brought me back to my younger days when my dad was my coach and I played house league.

Sometimes I wish I could go back, and just relive everything. Not change anything, just do it again to remember how happy I was. I miss those days.

Anyways, I'm glad I'm still breathing, still talking and still walking.
I will never over look the small things that I have in my life, and even when things get tough, I won't just stop in my tracks.
Sometimes things get rough, but thats when you bend your knees, and take it in stride.
Sure, maybe my mom hates my tattoo, and says she can never trust me.

But I know she will love me, until the end. I will too. She's my mom, she's my hero and I'm her son.
We love each other and I look up to her a lot.

even though we disagree on a lot of things, like religion, appearance, sexuality... the list could go on endlessly, We still are tight.

I hope she can say that she trusts me again, and I know she will. It will just take time, and a lot of smart decisions on my part.

I'm going to do my best, and take it one day at a time.
I need to buckle down on school stuff, even though I feel thats all I do. I'm going to put a lot of effort into my next projects and papers and get that feeling when you receive a mark that makes you feel wicked inside.

As of now, my marks are average. I've had some real bummer of midterms apparently, but I'm going to bust my ass this week, and the next, and the next to pull up my socks!

Pros to being a vegetarian: slowing green house gas emissions!

The man behind one of the most influential reports on climate change, Lord Stern, has highlighted the impact meat production has on greenhouse gas emissions. Part of it comes through methane made by the animals as they digest food. So which farm animals expel the most methane?

Graphic showing animals and methane emissions

A diet that relies heavily on meat production results in higher emissions than a typical vegetarian diet, says Lord Stern.

The author of the 2006 Stern Review into the cost of climate change attacked the "enormous pressure" meat production puts on the world's resources and said people were becoming increasingly aware about "low carbon consumption".

He told the BBC that cutting greenhouse gas emissions was important across the board, in areas such as electricity, transport and food.

In a 2006 report, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) concluded that worldwide livestock farming generates 18% of the planet's greenhouse gas emissions. By comparison, it said, all the world's cars, trains, planes and boats accounted for a combined 13% of greenhouse gas emissions.

Belching

The greenhouse gas emissions associated with meat consumption has many components, the largest of which is land use change - the clearing of forests for pasture or for the production of soya for animal feed. Other elements that have an impact on emissions include the rearing and slaughter of livestock, and the transport, refrigeration and cooking of meat.

There is also the nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas, in the manure of animals reared for meat and the methane, another greenhouse gas, in their flatulence. Molecule for molecule, methane has a much larger warming effect than carbon dioxide.
Cows
Western cows emit only 15% of methane expelled by cows

As the diagram above shows, methane emission is dramatically higher in cows (primarily from belching) than other animals. But cutting back on eating meat is not the simple answer, say scientists.

For a start, many of the cows responsible for producing methane are not reared to be eaten, according to Elaine Matthews, a methane expert at Nasa's Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

The breeds favoured in non-western countries are often bred for other uses, such as work, and these non-western cows are far more numerous than the larger dairy varieties reared in North America and Europe.

The larger western cows actually produce more methane per cow than their smaller non-western breeds, but because there are fewer of them, they only account for about 15% of all the methane produced by cows in general.

Meat output 'doubling'

Ms Matthews also says the quantity of methane they produce depends on the quality of food they are given. Cows that eat grain, she says, produce less methane than cows grazing on wild grass.

HAVE YOUR SAY
The simple fact of the matter is we don't need to eat meat, so why do we? Without it we can save releasing dangerous gases and save the cruelty of the meat trade
The Running Man, London

Send us your comments

And methane is not the most important consideration in relation to livestock, says Friends of the Earth - it's the intensity with which they are reared.

According to the environmental pressure group, methane from livestock accounts for about 6% of greenhouse gas emissions, with 6% from CO2 released when forests are cleared for pasture and to produce soy for feeds.

What is clear is that people are eating more meat and dairy products every year.

Global meat production is projected to more than double from 229 million tonnes in 1999/2001 to 465 million tonnes in 2050, while milk output is set to climb from 580 to 1043 million tonnes.
